From Confluence to lived processes

The workflows were documented — spread across Confluence and a nearly 800-page SOP PDF that grew out of it. That was exactly the problem: in daily work almost no one looked them up. The knowledge was there but practically unreachable, and with every change the documentation drifted further from lived reality.
Approach
Instead of maintaining the Confluence collection, the process knowledge was pulled out and turned into a coherent, living view — structured, findable and close to how work actually happens. Static documentation became a view the whole team relies on.
Result
The clean-up was scoped as a project: eight people over six months, or 48 person-months. It took one person, finished in a few weeks — so those 48 person-months were not spent but saved. The half year in the quote below is the calendar time that fell away. The workflows themselves now run 83 % more efficiently.
